Noise of the Universe

Noise of the Universe

A Poem by Lucas Grasha

Noise of the Universe

The Noise…

The Noise of the Universe"

Can you hear it?

It isn’t a matter of whether or not you do hear it"

With the ability comes the capacity to listen;

But also lent is the tendency never to feign hearing problems.

I’m not sure where the ability grows from"

Whether innate when borne a Child of the Stars,

Or adopted and learned by gradual inclusion in such a family.

At first, the Noise begins…soft,

For every Child of the Stars;

But rises in time.

The Curiosity about the Noise starts as gentle,

But in adolescent years, grows to grip firmly"

Akin to a Mother with Her Children.

The Noise may overwhelm the Child,

And cause them to cover their Ears…

And as those Children Grew, they Grew to have no Children of their own.

But for other Children, the Noise is Music,

Conducted with the most careful precision and grace"

The Music of the Universe.

And the Children of the Stars learn to play the Songs,

Proud to be pushed to read the Staves and Notes, to Unravel the Intricacy;

Akin to a Mother with Her Children…

Akin to a Mother with Her Children…

And the Noise…as it is Music"

Can you hear it?

I enjoyed the flow of thoughts and strong statements in the poem. Allow the mind to wander and think. Sounds are very important. Each can create a different reaction. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
