The Angel

The Angel

A Poem by Lucas Grasha

You're the shoreline when I drown,
where I swim to in the ocean's cold.
The rain clouds to my burning house,
the one to run in to drag me out.
My stable ground on muddied earth,
my water to drink when kicked to eat dirt.
My tiny bit of sunshine in the darkest hole,
my helm's captain when I lose control.
Now, I am your Guardian, with such a shield,
but you are my strength behind this steel veil.
Your wings and light, akin to my plates and helm,
for I would be weak without you, my sweet Engel.

wow. this is an incredibly solid and touching piece. you kept me reading all the way through, and my attention never faltered. we are lucky if we have someone like this in our lives, and it is clear the speaker fully recognizes how lucky he or she is, and their gratitude is inspiring.

thank you for sharing!

I like the story in this short poem.
"Now, I am your Guardian, with such a shield,
but you are my strength behind this steel veil."
I like the ending to the excellent poem.

Beautifully amazing; I love it!! Wonderful imagery and An overall lovely poem!!! But, I did notice one mistake; so small I barely saw it.

The line that said;

'My water do drink when kicked to eat dirt.'

I think you may have meant;

'My water to drink when kicked to eat dirt.'

Just one mistyped letter; and that was it! Other than that; Awesome!!!!

This was an amazing poem. If there's that special someone in your life, you should show dedicate it to them. If someone dedicated this to me, I know I'd definitely be touched, and feel loved. It's one of those poems that just moves the reader.

"You're the shoreline when I drown, where I swim into the ocean's cold." That was my favorite line of the whole thing, because it pulled me in at the beginning. It probably appealed to me the most because I'm a swimmer and adore the ocean, but nonetheless it was amazing. Going into my favs
