Her Song

Her Song

A Poem by Lucas Grasha

She was the start, the tried, not the end.

Her fabric woven from the world’s given threads.

The beauty, she is, such grace imprint

upon life, so dismal; humble, is her gift.

A smile started her, as her world was new,

the oceans, like her eyes, such a calming clue.

Her song she sung like the winds would blow,

having no quarrels, no problems below.

One time I grazed her, holding so tight

onto nothing, I was, but my base was her night.

Such comfort she gave in our starry skies,

as I stared deep into her ocean eyes.

That song she sung, she so played for me,

her voice would make my soul beautifully weep.

We would play her piano, her, the treble melody,

mine would play the bass as she would so sing.

But one day, I found her at the sea.

She said, “My world is falling down around me.”

I tried to comfort by holding her hand

she smiled and said, “You’ve been such a kind man.”

We traveled to our haven, where she sang for me so,

her face, pale, in the midnight glow.

I asked if she could sing her song as she had before,

a tear, she gave, and said, “I don’t remember it anymore.”

The poem was a great pleasure to read. The story in the poem was a powerful tale with a sad ending. The description took me to the sea wishing to hear her song. A very strong ending to a outstanding poem. Thank you.

Beautiful and enchanting, with a touch of meloncholy. You write rhyme so beautifully with tenderness and care. This poem brought both joy and tears. Wonderful job. Definitely a favorite.

Oh so beautiful. I love it!! There isn't much more I can say; for I cannot find the right words to voice what I am feeling. Thank you for this beautiful, beautiful, amazing poem.

This reminds me of a tale when the mermaid enters a mans life..they absorb each others love and pureness then in one day all has been taken...no more can be given. By sharing the magic she has forgotten how to sing her song... :) Your magical with your thoughts and writings. I'm so glad to be able to read you...xx
