Sonnet 9A Poem by Lucas GrashaThe
sun crests on the hill as I enjoy the sunrise, it
may as well be the last moment of my life. For
I’m sure of my death, I cannot disregard that
my soul will give up along with my heart. I
need not goodbye’s, I need not parting gifts, I
have done all the things I wished in the time I’ve lived. So
bring me some wine, a nice supper, and company, let’s
enjoy this all before you’ll say goodbye to me. I’ll
try to hold your hand at midday, and should you laugh, I’ve
started to think that you’ve been my other half. And
by sunset, please give me your bliss, as
we exchange between us one, final kiss. My
dearest of dears, fear my passing, not, I’ll
wait on the Otherside, for you are all I’ve got. © 2011 Lucas GrashaReviews
