![]() Electively DeadA Poem by Lucas GrashaThe peace quells from
riots eager to begin. It seems this silence
so loud will be starting again. We are not far from
the ones we have scorned. This crown of gold
has now turned to thorns. We wear not halos,
but partisan horns. Blacked out eyes and
no poetry born. This heart on a
platter is nothing we own. We want not
perfection, we just watch it corrode. If hate isn’t
something then we’ve made it just that. No plans are drawn
out to keep us intact. We have not
simplicity but ignorant bigotry. No quantum mechanics,
no religious symmetry. We have nothing but
claim that we do. Just like pundits on
TV, through and through. Thick-headed giants
of latent cognition; Cowardly bottom-feeders
craving recognition. These souls are
welled up in a single center. This capital of
knowledge should’ve been used for the better. But it has been
acknowledged a few times before; Only when the soles
of our shoes have gone past worn. These eyes that we
see through are not only two; Rather a river trying
to flow anew. But if the entry ways
are always blocked, bogged up like bombed
city streets in then the energy doesn't flow as I supposed. Then it goes bye as if no one knows. And how does entertainment fill cultural gaps, when people are more
worried about trade and cap? You're not supposed to
live like this, it doesn’t feel right. People are blindly
being led away from the light. See what these fakes
and these crazies are. See that they’re
completely untouchable stars. Farther away from the
truth and what dies. But falsehoods get closer
the more that you lie. And I don’t care
about wrong and the right. Because when you view a
situation, fix your sight. You can’t force
activism, but damn it, I can try. I give more hope than
what the famous provide. Don’t listen to these
fakes if they bring up spirituality. They have no clue
about that nor their own reality. So turn the TV off,
and open your mind. I don’t want to see
anyone else get paralyzed. © 2011 Lucas Grasha |
