One More Time

One More Time

A Poem by Dani California

There’s a song that waits

Behind locked gates,

Knowing its freedom is near.

It sings of sorrow

And of new tomorrow,

It sings of courage and fear.

It sings of me,

It sings of you,

It sings of the blind and the wise;

It sings of love,

It sings of hate,

It sings of life and demise.

It knows no bounds,

As its melody sounds,

Through the heart and soul of mankind.

It’s a song that has waited

And watched as hope faded,

Yet it sings, yes it sings,

One more time.

What a beautiful poem!
It made my heart sing........
F-R-E-E-D-O-M!
It reminds us all of our past failures but brings us the new hopes of tomorrow!
Your words speak so much truth.
Dreams and songs of one's heart knows no bounds!
Keep dreaming, keep your songs and hopes alive!
Great write, I truly enjoyed this poem from my favorite poet in this world!
May this world always keep it's hope alive!
You certainly did with this write dear!

Strong, inspiring words, Dani. So full of hope and peace. Let's hope that song of peace doesn't have to wait too much longer to be free. Great job!

Great juxtaposition of love and hate here, Dani. Never give up hope, yes? There's the hate aspect haunting me again...lol. First and last stanzas are awesome. Even when hope seems to fade, we journey on... That's really all we can do.

Great melodic quality as well.

Sing on, pretty lady...
