PENS FOR PEACE

Poets, writers, friends,

Enlighten them of the suffering.

Never ceasing pens bring forth

Silent voices to be heard.

Forgotten children are dying;

Overwrought parents are crying;

Resolution hasn't occurred.

Poverty is starving them;

Echoes of war scream within;

Abuse hidden without words.

Crying infants without a choice,

Eased only by our voice.

Girl, this is most fabulous. Such a subtle, soft voice, yet so powerful. I actually got chills. I heard a song just yesterday (or read a new article or something, I cannot remember), but it was talking about some of these very things. How true it is that they depend on our voices, yet may never even know that we've helped them.
Nice acrostic, too. :) It's good to see something from you again, my dear. :)

Strong truth within this piece. I'm usually not a fan of structured-esq poems, but I think you may persuade me otherwise. ^_^ Love this. It flows really well and I love how it begins and ends. Great content. And I fullheartedly agree. =)
