Is there any poem that ought not be written? Maybe the word should be shared....?
Fear of impropriety, (hmmm, maybe being misunderstood?) ... I have struggled with this as well.
Sharing memories of someone you love couldn't possibly be exploitation, but rather, liberation and celebration. (contest merely the launching pad, The Cafe mission control 10, 9, 8, 7.....)
I can see the wooden box. Thought I smelled a heavenly fragrance. I hear the letters crinkle as your lonely fingers wander through them like so many times before. Your ritual no longer a lonely eulogy as you set her free and share your love and memories with the world.
Wow, what a remarkable and billiant poem that honors the loving memory of your sister!
You are truly a incredible poet with so much beauty and inspiration to give to this world!
Keep writing from your soul for the good of all souls.
Though n a very serious note there is another poem now posted by R& R cowboy that mimics your poem in almost every way! Is it possible he copied off your poem????
Come on, it's so close to your beautiful poem that it makes one sick.
Not only is it morally wrong for one writer to steal another's work which is plagurisim,
but of all the poems he could of taken from this piece, is the dearest to your heart.
As a writer, I find it totally repulsive!
The mere fact that he has been frenquently accused by many on this site for stealing their work and that these poems are much to similar should make many wonder about his ethics as a poet.
To say the least, Writer's Cafe will never be taken serious in the real world as a site for writers and their works if these deviant practiecs are continued to be allowed!
No one should post any serious work on this site unless you want it stolen!
It is also very touching, as a story. I feel like there is a deeper meaning here, but I really admire the story on the surface. The final four lines are just so... wow! Paranormal, I could say, but perhaps the word I want is "enchanting"!
Exquisite is exactly right as dizzy-izzy ended her review. I am sorry for your loss but this is such a heart felt rememberance of your sister and I am sure that she is smiling. Oh yes, I believe that those that have left our touch are only a heartbeat away. Your work is always magnificent and I am so sorry that time prevents me from getting here as often as I would like.
Dani, these memories will never fade, especially all the good ones and it is very healthy that they remain with you always, the gentle warmth of your heart is where this trubute lies and sharing this with your readers could never be a wrong decision.

This poem answered a question I had about you...and returned me to a different question...This is an excellent experiential write...written with intense clarity.
My question is...If she is where your heart is, who's heart do you reside within? Better still...reside in the center of your own heart and All are present ;) It's grand that your heart calls you back to reality in this poem, while your mind led you into the "past"...
The poem is wonderful. I feel the emotion running through the lines of how much she meant to you. It feels as if I'm looking at a picture of her in your words alone. I wanted to give you my favourite lines, but I would have copied the entire poem. I can only say how truly honoured I feel that you share these words here.
A Noiseless Patient Spiderby Walt Whitman
A noiseless patient spider,
I mark'd where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark'd how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch'd fort.. more..
