What does one do when darkness falls?
There's no bungee cord, no security pad
To protect us from its deadly impact
"Fast and Furious" doesn't cut it, this is Fear
You'd better recognize! It's standing right here!

It didn't just arrive, by the way, It became you!
When you led it straight to what you "didn't want"
That's how desire works you, didn't you see?
That insatiable Orbit of Worlds in your presence
Do you remember which planet owns your essence?

Embrace what is true and rid yourself of not you
Who would you rather leave the choices to?
The voice of fear whose words keep you in the dark
Listen closer, there's another voice you left in park
Engage your True for it leads you to freedom,

I do have an answer to : what do you do darkness falls?
You shine your lantern (that you earned and was gifted with by going to hell and back) of hope and just keep lighting the dark and dreary roads of those in need! Be the hope in the eyes that for some reason they could never see!
Darkness be afraid and forwarned!
For as long as we all keep shining our bright rays of hope, you shall never truly conquer this world!

this poem is sad. but from light came darkness to shine light that only you could put out. since you have been on the dateing game . true love is hard to be found. the only person you really can trust is you. unless life brings you something new.

You know this is a kind poem which I would love to read over and over again! As it is such a practical work and I found it very close to life... so, I guess most of us can relate ourselves with it!
The entire struggle and then learning from the experience..Well..that's what life is all about :)

Dani, this especially true. fear is the thing that stops you when things sometimes become so overwhelming that you are paralyzed with it. to let go and go on is the important part...to listen to the inner voice that tells you to forget about it and go on.

you and Robin do write well together and this write is especially good....congrats to the both of you.
