String of Hope

String of Hope

A Poem by Dani California
"

A collaboration with Robin :)

"

On occasion my hands like to travel
To the places where minds unravel
A bird on a wing and a piece of string
Creates a melody only souls can sing

Soul of mine, am I dead inside?
I search for love but find only pride
Is the path of life too far and wide?
To keep the beat of my song alive

Through the light of my soul I shine within
I've traveled too far to let darkness win
Even if it turns me inside out once more
I'm holding fast the string of hope to soar

Catch a thermal watch out here I come
I'll ride the moon all the way to the sun
Vanquish failures and Celebrate victories
Souls high in the light of soaring revelries!

What a beautiful write, Dani...you and Robin write quite well together.

Through the light of my soul I shine within
I've traveled too far to let darkness win
Even if it turns me inside out once more
I'm holding fast the string of hope to soar

this is what says it all for me, because without that hope, everything is for nought.

thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece.

Always,

Amanda

Beautiful and beautifully written. Everyone, it seems to me, goes all the way on the path though some wiggle away for a while, but in the end I think we are rather like plants and must reach for the light.

Perfect blending of pens.. I loved this piece... string of hope.. attached to the wings of believing
you two set this poem with heightened effect.. as if the opening sentence reflects what it means

to open a foggy window framed into the sense of wanting to know what it means to touch the
shine of enlightenment; and to read on is to open that window
and see the world in a whole new color of peace....at the same time

set the heart in flight- journey beyond every days struggles and feeling the true meaning of
dreaming and what it means to live- knowing that even a spark of hope can light up the whole world

A transcendent poem! One that makes you question which is more hopeful to identify with: forms or essence. Nicely written, Dani, as always....
