Forever

Forever

A Poem by Dani California

Gently

I sink into you
My once strong exterior
Now coddled like a child
Within your arms
Seemingly helpless
I am safe

Gradually
My heart quickens
As I feel your essence
Engulfing me
An energy like nothing else
I have ever known
Joy is home

Softly
You touch my cheek
A single stroke of your hand
Sends shivers through my soul
My pulse races
As I try desperately to preserve
This moment

Quietly
I weep tears of joy
For the moment that I am in
And I weep tears of sorrow
For the moment that will end
I just want to lay here in your arms
Forever

The essence of you shines in this, Dani! It reaches out and embraces us with tenderness and delight. I think, anyone who has experienced such moments can find the beauty in this and can relate to how fleeting such moments can be, and the desire to "stay like this forever." I certainly can relate :) Much love to you, beautiful lady.....

Such expression of happiness, love and passion in what you are feeling in this poem, no one ever wants such feelings to end, these moments are forever in ou thoughts, it is sad when they have to end. Beautifully written Dani.

Dani,
This is the third time I have returned to read.
The gentle sway rocks me like a lullaby.
Outstandingly beautiful.

Once again you shine with brilliance and complete passion... you so eloquently captured the true essence of what love should feel like... it makes me want to experience it again some day... you never cease to amaze me with your writing skills.

I feel the passion and love in the words of this poem. There are many ways to express love but only a few can describe a soulmate. Body, mind and soul. This is a memory of mine. I love this poem! well done

This is quite stunning. It reminds me of my first true love from high school where we would look deeply into one another's eyes and it felt like we could see one another's souls. Just beautiful. Great flow and rhythm. Just right. Thank you.

I love your emotional and sensory appeal; your structure is very clever and your word choice and use wonderful. I love just reading the first, then the last lines of each stanza...gently, gradually, softly, quietly...I am safe, joy is home, this moment, forever... Even the second lines...I sink into you, my heart quickens, you touch my cheek, I weep tears of joy. So brilliant really, almost poems in and of themselves. This is just a lovely, well-crafted poem.

Simply amazing or what!! I'm so taken into this ecstasy filled poetry that I can't describe my feelings. Love couldn't be potrayed on a more true and vivid form.
This is superb! The flow, the feelings, the imagery....EVERYTHING!!
Just reading it made me feel better (something I really needed today) and I'm so grate ful to you for sharing it here. I feel kinda wanted....lolz
Anyways, the poem's perfect, as always. Gosh! I always repeat myself. But Hey, its true...!!
AWESOME!!!
