A Moment

A Moment

A Poem by Dani California

My heart aches

For a moment

A moment

A mere flicker

In this vastness

Of endless time

A moment

To know you

To touch you

To feel you

A moment

To see the twinkle

Of love in your eyes

When you look at me

A moment

To feel the softness

Of your lips

Pressed gently against mine

A moment

To hear your heart

Softly beating love's melody

As it intertwines with my own

A moment

To spend a sprinkle

Of eternity

In your arms

A moment

When everything

That ever existed

Finally makes sense

A moment

When passing stardust

Erases all time

Past, present and future

A moment

When the only thing left

And the only thing

That ever truly mattered

Was this moment

I think as a whole we as people all linger and search for such an unending love. But at the same time fear being open to it as well. But love has it way of enduring in these times as long as it is meant to be. Forever never seems long enough when you find that kind of love though.

Great Job!!!!!!

Wow!! This was great!! It made me get lost in the vastness of eternity and at the same time showed me the beauty of a single moment.

I especially liked the repetition of "A moment" and then the short description of it. It was like blinking through each second of an embrace, stretching it forward in thought, and then zeroing right back in to the final second "And the only thing/that ever truly mattered/Was this moment". That was a magical journey!

Dani, I love the way people respond to your writes. A moment spells out a utopia of life and you wave your magic wand and poof, its out for all to envision it was quite a pleasant readnice write Dani..

The dictionary describes a 'moment', in context with time, as an indefinitely short period of time. What it doesn't explain, is how you managed to encapsulate so much romantic imagery, in so few words.

Exquisite write!
