Longing

Longing

A Poem by dangerbooze
"

We've all been here...

"
I don't like it
Waking up, I mean
Especially not alone
Not like this

I still feel your breath
Against my neck
The heat from your body
Still lingers on my skin

I absolutely
Utterly loathe this feeling
When I roll onto my side
And expect to see you
And find you smiling at me

Instead
All I see
Is empty space
The wrinkled creases
Of where you used to be
Left haphazardly on my sheets

I love to
But hate to
Crawl onto your side
Wishing and begging
That it's still warm

That you haven't been gone long
So I can soak up what remains
Of a presence I hold dear

So please, please
Please, my love
Come back to bed

Chase away my fears
And join me in my dreams
With me in your arms.

I'm a lazy writer. I write what I feel when I feel like it. But to be more specific, I have a constant case of writer's block about pretty much every thought that I can think of or even consider. .. more..
