Queen of my Heart, King of my SoulA Poem by dangerbooze
Ant.
It's what I am Just a small no one in this big world filled with someones And yet you chose me I wandered into your world your precious picnic blanket and instead of flicking me aside you scooped me up and whispered your secrets to me Walking beside you it's dangerous to even try one wrong step from either of us and we know I won't survive so you insist on carrying me I balk and protest my pride can't take such affection from you it's different yet all too familiar I feel how possible it is how frightening it is that if I look past your facade I'll see the web around me and won't be able to escape your embrace But the Queen of my colony the voice which directs my every move keeps telling me the unexpected "Stay there" she murmurs the blood that makes my heart pulse with every beat I hear the murmur So I stay despite the terror I feel that you could suddenly become ravenous and devour me without a thought I stay And if or when you decide that it's time to release me from your arms time will pass and the ache will fade but when you look back and that fleeting presence of me remains the King within you the King that makes you who you are shall remind you and taunt you I was here.
