Prodigal

Prodigal

A Poem by Kati

He was sitting down at the corner street,
Not doing anything much.
His whole appearance didn't meet
the standard that is pushed.

But who is he? Why is he there?
What brought him to this place?
This darkness, where nobody cares?
I can still see the sadness on his face.

What remedy is there for his sorrow?
Is there any cure for this pain?
What if he died tomorrow?
What would be his eternal fate?

His mother is at home praying,
for the Spirit of God to move her son,
for someone to come to him saying,
"God can forgive whatever you've done."

"He will break your heart and bring you low,
To show you your need for salvation,
then He will heal your heart and bestow,
the Fatherly spirit of adoption."

Next time you see a mother's son,
sitting down by the corner street,
be sure to tell him what God has done,
tell him of the Savior that he can meet.

God's arm is mighty to save,
His grace and mercy never end.
His one and only Son He gave,
Oh, Love that we cannot comprehend!
