Feel like a foolA Poem by KatiIf you've ever had that "Oh, I feel so foolish" feeling...just remember...we must rejoice to be counted fools for Christ.
Lord, I felt like such a fool today.
I stood before a crowd, and didn't know what to say. But finally I told them that you are the Great Creator. I told them that you are the Eternal Lord. And if only one of them thinks a little more about you, well, I don't care if I feel like a fool. My family is here, I'm around them every day. But I don't say anything...what can I say? Should I tell them that you are the Great Creator? Please help me tell them that you are the Eternal Lord! And if only one of them thinks a little more about you, well, I don't care if I feel like a fool. There are people all over the place...I'm at a big event. I just can't spread your Gospel now, Lord...I'm all spent. How can I find the strength and courage to speak of your cross? Then I remember that compared to you, all of my gain is loss. And if only one of them thinks a little more about you, well, I don't care if I feel like a fool. What about my neighbors that live down the street? I smile and wave every time we meet. But why don't I tell them that you died in their place? Why don't I tell them of deserved justice, and free grace? And if only one of them thinks a little more about you, I don't really care if I feel like a fool. In the doctors office, a routine check up... Surely this isn't the place to take my cross up. But what? Don't these people need to hear? Why should I be too busy or ashamed to share? Because if only one of them thinks a little more about you, I don't care if I feel like a fool. Lord, make my lips move when you are moving in their hearts. Help me see them as dying people, rather than vicious sharks. Give me compassion, and a heart to reach the lost. Keep reminding me that my flesh is dead, and I took up my cross. And if only one of them thinks a little more about you, I don't care if I feel like a fool. KT 2009 © 2011 KatiReviews
