Love Labors

Love Labors

A Poem by Danger
"

A love story. No romance, no sex.

"

I don't even know you, but I'm in love with your soul/
Passionate holds
make me feel I'm tactically bold./
I ain't never touched your skin,
but I know every inch/
intimately, plus, I'm intoxicated by your scent/
It's a shame we've got this wall between us
Why can't you let your guard down?/
Your passion is apparent
and your folks are gone now/
So, why keep this distance?
What are you afraid of?/
What are you ashamed of?
'Cause I share the same Love?/
No, I'm not a hypocrite
I'm just a little different/
I know that if I'm missing this
I may never get it again/
So, I keep some distance in
And we agree to feel it out/
But that really just means that we have the same doubts/
So, what's it all about?
I don't know, Love,/
'cause now I know love
but, I can't quite grab it/
It's really quite tragic
'Won't say that I've had it/
But I can hardly stand it
Bordering on madness/
It's so frustrating, I'm feeling quite annoyed/
I'm tired of the games, feeling like I'm being toyed with/
If this is what love is, I might as well have never knew/
But on the other hand, Love, it was pleasant meeting you./

Easy.

This is easy to go along with and quite entertaining to be honest with you. I liked the line especially about having the same doubts.

Nice. I really like the last line. Pulls it all together and gives it a sense of irony - can anyone ever be that flippant about love?
Like the rhetorics.
