Where did we go?

Where did we go?

A Poem by Daniel Gardner
"

For you

"

You say I need a break
But you won't let me sleep
You say you want me
But leave me to beg and plead
I helped bring you out of the dark and into the light
Now that you see me you seem to run from fright
I can't understand the distance
That makes me feel you want to end this
I expected the pain and sorrow
I did not expect our love to be hollow
There's nothing more I can do
But sit wallowing in my grief

The fifth and sixth lines say it all. And, that may be true of many relationships. If that is what the poem was meant to be, you nailed it. Good work.
