Vampire kisses -Chapter 10-A Chapter by DancingInTheDarkI woke up the next morning to a pounding headache. The first thought that entered my mind weather or not I was dead. I could feel a small hand pressing against my forehead. My eyes fluttered open to see a pair of bright blue eyes staring down at me. “Christina?” I muttered. “It’s me, your going to be alright” Christina responded, comforting me. My headache had already began to fade away, making it easier to focus. I started to sit up, expecting to be in a lot of pain but strangely I felt fine. “You’re a newborn, your wounds healed quickly. Though you may feel a bit dizzy for a while” Christina informed me. “I’m going to kill that sorry son of a b***h I said, in a strained voice. “Please calm yourself, you are in no shape to fight even still. Master Jace overreacted is true. But please…forgive and forget and be more careful with your words next time. Your wounds no longer remain so they have no voiced to remind you of what happened” Christina told me softly. “My wounds may not have voiced but my memory certainly does” I replied, rubbing the bite mark on my neck, they didn’t hurt as bad as the last time but they were still there. Christina laughed slightly at my comment. “I don’t think Master Jace was truly that mad at you” She said thoughtfully “Chances are something else angered him greatly and you were the last straw it took for him to snap a bit” “Just a bit?” I replied, re-calling the continuous and painful beating that had occurred “Well, maybe more then a bit but the point is, please don’t hate him completely yet” “Too late, I already do” I muttered. Christina sighed, knowing that the conversation was going know where. “Come on, why don’t you change?” Christina grabbed some clothes from the closer and handed them to me. I hadn’t noticed it before but I was in a much smaller bedroom with a small wooden bed and soft purple sheets. There was only a chair and a small table in the corner complete with a vase of wilted lilacs and a small dresser in the opposite corner. “Is this my room?” I asked Christina as I put on a pair of jean shorts and a crimson t-shirt. “Yes it is” she responded, nodding her head. “Your room is on the same floor as mine, which coincidently is on Master Jace’s floor. Your rooms door had a star carved into it and mine a lightening bolt” Christina told me with a small laugh “Not very fitting is it?” she asked me, I didn’t say anything. Somehow I just wasn’t in the mood. “So what are we doing today?” I asked absentmindedly. “Well actually…you won’t be doing much of anything today. Master Jace has requested to see you” My heart skipped a beat as Christina said those words. I had hoped I wouldn’t have to see him for as least a million years. “why does he want to see me? So he can beat me again?” I asked angrily. “Unless you anger him, most likely not” Christina responded, refusing to give me pit at the moment. “Fine, I’ll go” I mumbled as I headed for the bedroom door. I shuffled my feet, feeling sorry for myself. As I turned to head towards Jace’s bedroom I stopped. I was scared, Though I had learned to defend myself. I had taken martial art class with Schuler when I was younger but against Jace everything I had learned was useless. He was stronger and more powerful, not to mention had a taste for teenage girl’s blood. I looked back at my door, wishing desperately that I could go back, or better yet, simply run away from all of this. I summed on all of the courage I had. I refused to be defeated by a man like Jace, and I would not let him have the pleasure of knowing that he had stuck the note of fear inside of me. I walked to his door, my head held high. I knock my fist against the door three times and waited for a reply. “Come in” Jace’s voice finally came. I opened the door and walked into the room. Jace was standing by the far wall, looking out a small window that over looked the beautiful garden I had seem yesterday. “You asked for me….Master?” I stressed the last word mockingly. Jace kept his gaze of the outdoors for several more minutes until he finally turned his eyes towards me. “As you know, an old friend will be coming to visit soon. He announced that he is bringing a gift for me. A young girl, probably about your age. I want you and Christina to prepare a room for her. Christina will choose a suitable room, but I trust you will relay the message and help with any preparations" Jace explained. My hands rolled into fists and my body tensed as my anger began to build up inside of me. I had always believed in a woman’s rights, and now I believed in them more then ever. How dare anyone give another person a woman as a gift! This wasn’t ancient china! I opened my mouth to start yelling at Jace but I suddenly clamped my mouth shut, seeing the strange look in his eyes. Why would he tell me to relay a message to Christina when he could have just as easily called for her directly? I thought. Then I came to the realization. He was testing me. Just waiting for me to explode so that he could try and teach me another lesson. I smiled smugly. Is this the way you want to play? Then bring it on! I mentally challenged him, the darker side of me hoping that he was reading my mind. “Yes Master Jace” I finally said aloud. I couldn’t tell if I had taken Jace off guard or not but either way I was exceedingly proud of myself for catching Jace in his own little game. I gave a little bow, as I had seen Christina do many times before. “Is that all? I asked with a false sense of sweetness. “Yes, that is all” Jace replied as he wave his hand towards the door, signaling I could leave. I ran down the hallway like a giddy school girl. I had never met anyone that could outsmart me in a battle of wits and as far as deviousness and hissed plots were concerned I was quite sure that Jace would be no exception. “Let the games begin” I said quietly as I opened the door to my room and walked in. © 2010 DancingInTheDarkReviews
