The Fire Within
A Poem by A. M. Charles
This fire within me burns Paints my insides with ash and soot Makes acid of my tears And makes charcoal teeth chatter. My words are smoke My eyes, burning embers My laughter is the hissing of steam The crackling of burning wood. You started the fire Fanned it to blazing Till I breathed it Became it Loved it. Now can you feel the heat? |

I like the imagery, you have a fierce voice when you write.
