Loving You

Loving You

A Poem by A. M. Charles

Your eyes cause my heart to stop, they still my breath.
Your voice is the sacred note that created the universe.
Your scent wracks my body, it steals my soul.
Your touch envelops me, blinds me, kills me.
And all life stops, everything is silence
To love you is to crave the death your presence brings
To dread the rebirth of our parting.
I have never known such wrenching pain.
I have never known a sweeter joy.
