Shadow

Shadow

A Poem by Tasha

No one
Ever
Sees the shadow
Only the light
In front of it;
The light
May have
"The look"
But its
The shadow
That keeps
The look together
No one
Ever notices
The shadow
Because it is
Always behind the scenes
It never gets
The credit
It deserves
Its the shadows
That tie
The world
Together

I love a poem that can pull off being simple, yet complex. This piece is incredibly deep to me. It speaks of the one in the background. That person that gives and gives, but is never noticed. The one who is always there, but their assistance would be the only thing missed if they were not. I find this to be a very sad write indeed. I will chew on this one awhile...

Reminds me of a passing Buddhist monk, who does a good deed when needed, and then simply keeps going on his path.

Nice of you to give the "shadows" a worthy mention here.

Thanks for the review Isaac.
Solid piece one to put a question in the heads of others the most powerful thing a pen can do keep it up

Indeed so. Being a shadow person is no bad thing. I like thin poems. It is easy to spray words around, but thin poems show a certain admirable restraint.

It's the shadows that give the world depth. I like this poem, It's simple yet powerful. Even more, I agree. There are those that may stand out, but where would they be without the ones working behind the scenes?
