Stereotype

Stereotype

A Poem by Tasha
"

This is a sad story.

"
Gunned down because of a color,
Gunned down for
Looking the part of
A potential threat
Unarmed, but still
The security guard shot

A hood on his head,
Skittles in his pocket
Talking on the phone

When will we realize
That we are all
Not the same,
We are all individuals

An eye for an eye
Makes the whole
World blind,

Its a shame
That a senseless killing
Was all because of a stereotype...

It takes such a sad story to get people to pay attention...

TRayvon is one of many lost because of hate and forgotten. We lose a thousand young people yearly to drugs and bad actions in Detroit. Kids with no education and no jobs have few choices. Hate crimes should get the max time and punishment. This is a very sad story. Need to be kept alive his memory so we won't forget him. We need to pray for the family and hope this law system will do its job. A powerful poem.

A fitting tribute. We are always afraid of 'Others.'

the saddest part for me is that Trayvon can't even tell his own story. He looks like a good kid in the photos they show on tv. It grieves me that this is what the world has come to

This is sad. This is something we must all learn from.
I hope the lesson we learn here does not get forgotten.

I wish they would take the guy who killed Trayvon Martin to jail. Personally this angers me because a person should never kill and get away with it! Pisses me off.

This is really beautiful and heartfelt. Amazing, really. I love how you captured everything, and made the reader see a picture rather than a bunch of words.
