I'm Not Good Enough

About self esteem, I wrote it for the College Readiness Program at my school on Friday 12/9/11.

When there's something

New worth trying

There's a voice inside my head

That always say's...

"I'm not good enough",

"I'll never look like that",

Its a voice,

A voice that always sticks,

It can never go away

Because I believed it

But then I realized 

That I am good enough,

I can do what I say I am... 

And I am a superstar 

That is good enough

I really enjoyed reading this writing. Those thoughts of self doubt are common thoughts when trying new things even for adults....but the experience of trying is what builds self confidence. I love new experiences....thank you for the opportunity to reflect on this.

simple,direct,to the point. as most poems about self doubt should be. this poem doesn't give the depression time to dispute its words, instead it locks it in and lectures it. very nice, very very smooth.
