Rain Down On Me

Raining everywhere.

All the pain,

All the losses in life

Fall into my lap

And I need an umbrella

To protect me from the rain,

It's a thunderstorm of darkness

A thunderstorm of hurt

And all I can do is watch

The rain fall down on me

I run and hide

So I won't get wet,

I try to hide from the truth

But it always ends up 

Finding me

So I sit in this spot

And hope the storm

Is over soon

As I watch it all

Rain down on me

The truth is that you get wetter running in the rain instead of walking and here as a metaphor I feel running from the problem and the pain only makes it worse, better to walk away head held high and let it wash over you, for in the pausing can we claim something of ourselves back realising we are beaten but not broken, tomorrow is another day and without them we are still us.
