Faded Memories

Faded Memories

A Poem by Tasha
"

Writing prompt response

"
Back in second grade we were enemies
I stuck gum in your hair,
And you hated me for it
You made me sit in glue
It was your way of getting even
In third grade we were partnered
For a science project,
I thought the teacher did that
For laughs
But the more we got to know
Each other
The more we realized
We had so much in common
We've been best friends
Ever since,
But now you've changed
You're not the same
You've found a new crowd
I'm not "cool" any more,
And all that we've been through
Is now a faded memory
That can never be clear again

There is no way that we can ever know why
another person acts the way they do.
Ask her. Even then you may not find out why
the change. People do not always change
willingly. Sometimes circumstances dictate
how people act.
Patience is your best friend. In time this will
probably work itself out and you will wonder
why it was important back now.
Good luck and God bless

An awesome job you have done, and relatable in some aspects at one time or another too, wonder if this is about 2 girls, I think so...great piece :)

T.T sad. Sad, but true. Somehow, this seems to happen all the time.

Emotional piece. Beautiful poem. :)

Friends are wonderful if they are true friends, but sounds like sometimes even though it hurts faded memories are the best. Felt the pain in this one!

A very painful experience. Its hard to understand how good friends can grow apart but sadly it does happen. A very well written poem, very readable and easy to relate to. I think you did an awesome job on this!
