Addicted To Your Lies

Addicted To Your Lies

A Poem by Tasha
"

Breaking the habit of listening to lies.

"
You feed me your lies
And like a child I believe
Every word
It's a drug,
An addiction,
A habit I can't break
Being addicted to your lies
Isn't helping my health
Just making me sick inside,
It makes me think things will change
Even though I know they won't
I'm addicted to your lies
I'm so sad it makes me cry
I'm checking into rehab
So I can learn to handle the truth
And take control of this addiction
That's destroying my life

I love the allusion to lies being addicting and needing to check into rehab. We believe what we want to believe despite reality. Reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's song "Addicted." No matter how bad someone is for us...we keep coming back for more. The key is to find out what is the lure....

Lies as an addiction. Nice analogy. This is well written - sometimes we want to believe those lies because they are easier than the truth. Mind you, I am with Coyote Poetry on this one: liars lie - the addiction isn't just with the person hearing them. I think for some people it becomes a bit of a game to see if they can get away with it. Don't fall for it!

If you catch a liar. You got lucky. Best run for the hill and don't look back. Liars can't change. Lies are words after a time. The truth fade away and the liar can't tell the truth from a lie. I like the directness of this poem. Sometime best to separate and try to find a real person who can love. Thank you for a excellent poem. You can always make me think.

They do stir up the drama and chaos. Sometimes we found ourself addicted to drama and chaos.

Lies can be very addictive. I mean, just look at politics or "reality" TV... *wink* In all seriousness though, this is a marvelous bit of work.

This was so great but i would like to give my opinoin in this, i mean sometimes a person would need a lie to live, i say that if my boy lie to me and said that he loves me back again i won't believe but i will be able to live better even when it is a lie ..

But you did a great work :)

"Being addicted to your lies" I love that line. It is so true. I can totally relate to that over and over again. Well done.
