Addicted To Your Lies

Addicted To Your Lies

A Poem by Tasha
"

Breaking the habit of listening to lies.

"
You feed me your lies
And like a child I believe
Every word
It's a drug,
An addiction,
A habit I can't break
Being addicted to your lies
Isn't helping my health
Just making me sick inside,
It makes me think things will change
Even though I know they won't
I'm addicted to your lies
I'm so sad it makes me cry
I'm checking into rehab
So I can learn to handle the truth
And take control of this addiction
That's destroying my life

I love the allusion to lies being addicting and needing to check into rehab. We believe what we want to believe despite reality. Reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's song "Addicted." No matter how bad someone is for us...we keep coming back for more. The key is to find out what is the lure....

i have a problem with the line "Even though I know they won't" and also a little, "So I can learn to handle the truth" i think it makes the poem lose its flow. but i love the rest. do you think your poems are changing a little lately? (its good)

Woww...you poured out the exact feelings that a human feels on facing a lie. At times it even happenes that a lie works as an acid inside as burns us to the deepest point and as a result we spend our entire life in trying to empty the acid.Life is so unpredictable

I loved it...

Wow, isn't this the truth. Sometimes we feel like we want to hear the lies and not the truth because the truth cuts like a knife.

There are many times in life when we know something is a lie but rather than deal with the harsh reality of things we make the choice to believe the sugary sweet lie instead. This is done really well and makes a point.

oh dang.. such truth you speak!! Definately true. Lies ruin everything..
Nice piece here. Liars never do change. They hurt you with their words trying to sweep you off the ground when in reality their creeping at your core and piercing you right through the center. =( *sigh* I know it well.. i can relate.. it hurts... all the lies that build up.. end up crashing down and BOOM nothing is left to comfort us..
Great write dear! =D
