Addicted To Your Lies

Addicted To Your Lies

A Poem by Tasha
"

Breaking the habit of listening to lies.

"
You feed me your lies
And like a child I believe
Every word
It's a drug,
An addiction,
A habit I can't break
Being addicted to your lies
Isn't helping my health
Just making me sick inside,
It makes me think things will change
Even though I know they won't
I'm addicted to your lies
I'm so sad it makes me cry
I'm checking into rehab
So I can learn to handle the truth
And take control of this addiction
That's destroying my life

I love the allusion to lies being addicting and needing to check into rehab. We believe what we want to believe despite reality. Reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's song "Addicted." No matter how bad someone is for us...we keep coming back for more. The key is to find out what is the lure....

Poingnant indeed. Can definitely relate, and I agree with Kat regarding the line "I'm checking into rehab". Thanks so much for sharing!

this is really well written. I couldn't not read the whole thing once i'd started (: it's short and sweet but says so much!

the message behind this and the strong emotions shine through everything else. there are a few tense problems and little sentence variation, which kind of makes everything sound a little too bland. you keep improving!

I KNOW this feeling, and I know it sucks. You can get through it though. This is a really good, and real, writing.

Wow, that is amazing. It's written in a way where it can say soo much, and still seem so short. :) Love it.

Oh, isn't that the joy of being a girl? We want love, and a lot of males don't, but they can pick out our weaknesses and use them against us, manipulate us, and tell us what we want to hear to get exactly what they want. This poem correlates nicely with what I am learning in life right now. Been there once or twice and I'm trying to make sure it never happens again. Nice metaphor.
