Up In Flames

A secret relationship is exposed..

A secret about you an me

Is surprisingly   exposed,

There's nothing left to do now

But wait and see what rumors would spread,

All the hard work,

All the secrecy,

Is up in flames

Because the whole school knows

And its too much to handle,

Do we pretend like its not true,

Or deny the accusations? 

Up in flames

Is the thought of ever

Keeping our relationship to ourselves

I guess they caught on to the 

Awkward stares

And the nervousness

Between one another,

They saw through it all

And all I can see is our

Relationship possibly going up in flames

Writing prompt about your business getting spread in high school, which is pretty common.

Spreading rumors are never very nice. That's an understatement of course. It is also eternal and happens not only in high school. This is a poem anyone can relate to, specially when it comes to relationships and when we are vulnerable. When it comes to relationships everybody seems to have their judgement at the ready. Of course you feel more than annoyed. I like the layout and the use of colour. Rumours spread like fire and like fire they are very difficult to extinguish. Very good use of the comparison.

Wonderful poem! I love it. It flows great and you can definately feel the love here that wants to keep hold but.. an event has broken it... for the relationship to go down.. Very fascinating and strong write!
