No Longer The Same

No Longer The Same

A Poem by Tasha
"

"
"What's gotten into you?"

You're no longer the

Same girl you use to be,

You now hold your head up high

And you speak your mind,

Why are you no longer the same?

I like the old you

That did stuff to satisfy everyone else's needs

You did it without question,

I don't like the new you,

Because you're no longer the same

And I can't control everything you do...

Good form, structure and well written, but it seemed to lack the 'umph' some of your other work does. That indefinable something that set's your work apart from the norm. If I could put my finger on what it was I would tell you, but you definatley have it

Men do get scare when the woman get stronger. I like the honest words in the poem. I told my daughters. Be strong and pay your own bills. Men can leave you and you best know how to take care of yourself. A excellent poem.

This is brilliant! One never gets the perspective of the man, always the woman. Men do not like changes, they like predictability. I know this personally, because I was very predictable to my hubby till I got tired of his nonsense and decided to change and become unpredictable and it freaked him out. Thank you for allowing us to see that side of what seems to be a missing puzzle. :)

I don't know the book, but I do understand how people change and how we don't always like it and it's presented very well in this poem.

Really nice, in life many people change around you sometimes you even fall apart, like I had a friend since we were born and now I'm a church going kid and hes this kid who hangs out with goths and does all this bad stuff. It hurts when people leave your side and change

Great voice! I love the character's honesty. That admission at the end is the icing on the cake. This poem speaks of rising up against a partner who insists on being manipulative. The honesty of the speaker reveals his major flaw.

I love lines 7 through 10 especially, because they reveal more about the character these lines were directed towards. No longer is She willing to blindly sacrifice precious time and work to satisfy Him. Introspection and self-awareness begin to take hold, and a metamorphosis takes place, for the better.

Awesome work, and thanks for sharing it with us!
