I'm My Own Worst Enemy

I'm My Own Worst Enemy

A Poem by Tasha
"

The worst enemy you can have is yourself.

"
There's a voice inside my head
That always tells me
"You're not good enough"
"You'll never be anything"
But I always listen to it because
I am my own worst enemy,
I tell myself I'm no good,
No one will ever talk to me
You're always the underdog
That no one really cares about
I'm my own worst enemy because
When I get a compliment I turn
It into a nasty comment,
Because I don't believe in myself
I cut,
I scream,
I listen to music
To drown out the feeling of hating myself,
I starve,
I overeat,
I crash diet
All to kill the pain racing inside of me
I'm my own worst enemy
I hate myself,
I know I can never love myself
Because I take everything into consideration
I feel like no one likes me...
Maybe because I don't like myself...
I'm trapped inside this prison cell,
With no way to get out

i think most of us go through this stage of transition; when we know we want to be something but haven't had the training or belief to be in alignment. women fall into self sabotaging actions with the starvation, overeating and dieting because the media serves the masses on whats beautiful and if we don't fit the color, shape, symmetrics and stance of what they advertise - we start punishing ourselves for not being lovable....but then later we discover that this shell is deeper - and life is still too beautiful and precious to allow ourselves to live from the outside in rather than inside out.

To be our own worst enemy is self reflective at times...we often like what we do not see...this voices that well love...you are not afraid to voice such issues and I admire that xx

I have felt like that. I will be honest here, I don't have strong sense of self, my self esteem is pretty low, and I have thought things like this. I have said things like these to myself. When I achieve something I tribute it to luck, not my skill or determination. I put myself down, and usually think I'm worthless or undesirable. I'm still fighting, but I'm glad you wrote this poem about such a topic. I'm really glad this. Another great job!
