I Long To...

I Long To...

A Poem by Tasha
"

This is for my grandma

"
I long to see you again,
To touch your face
And to run my fingers
Through your hair
I long to hear you speak
And for you to give me
Sage advice,
I long to see your smile again
Because the last time I saw you
There was no smile upon your face
I long to see you pain free
Because I hated seeing you in pain
But now you don't have to worry
About the stress of the world...
I long to hug you again
And to never let go
I long to feel your presence
That will stay with me forever

Author's Note

 Tasha
This is for my grandma, she died 5 years ago. Her birthday was July 1 but it was to painful to write about so that's why I strayed away for a while. I hope you like it.

I love this poem, an amazing tribute to your late grandmother. It was genuine, without being cheesy. Putting your own personal thoughts and feelings and not generic phrases. I enjoyed reading this, and I could see it was painful to write. Another great piece.

It is very hard to write about a loved one who had passed, especially when you were so close with them and as Nevermindfan1991 has mentioned it being genuine without being cheesy and I agree with him/her. She would be very proud of you.

Without YOUR note I wouldn't have known it was a tribute to a Gran... NOW that I DO a 'jaundiced' eye reflects upon your thoughts and mine from before are invalid. Chuckling here - that's life.

Take care,
Chris
