If I Lost My Pen

If I Lost My Pen

A Poem by Tasha

If I lost my pen,
it would be like
losing my soul
to a heartless monster

If I lost my pen,
you'd see a totally
different side of me
that you'd never think
would be in me,

If I lost my pen,
there would be no way
to keep my composer,
no way to keep my insanity,

Without my pen,
I'm just another screaming fan
at a concert,
lost behind the crowd,
not in the front like I want to be

Just a tiny detail that you can barely see

I think all writers can relate to this poem :) The whole "If I lost my pen" kind of hit me as "If writing suddenly never existed" or "If I was unable to write forever" which enhances the deeper meaning. Every line in this poem scared the crap out of me (In a good way); I imagined never being able to write again, and I realized how soon I would lose myself and fall apart. It really made me think about myself and what writing means to me. Beautiful and amazing job :)

I--I can't even imagine if I could never write again. To lose my pen would be to lose myself. Wonderfully put. :)

Worse than losing my pen would be losing my ability to write, to explore to play with words. Worse than death. I like this!

if i lost my pen, i would never know that i can think. It's better to pen down the thoughts, it gives you existence, and not a sheep to follow the folks. it's like recognizing our own voice. nice write up and someone's admiring herself :)

There is a slight touch of symbolism in this poem, that I think was well disguised.
Because, if one really feels the sting of the need to write, we'll always find another pen, writing in our own blood if we had to...(well, okay, maybe not going THAT far XD)
Let me just say that it's very refreshing to see a poet that I know so well going outside of her comfort zone.
This piece is really good, though I suggest on future pieces you have an outside source double check it for shortly missed errors!
