Sleepless Beauty

Why can't Sleeping Beauty sleep?

I lay here night after night,
tossing and turning
wondering if I should throw it all away,
and  throw in the towel?
or should I stay?
and just turn the other cheek?
while pretending like I don't see
whats happening right in front of me
I lay here thinking about the good times,
and the bad times,

I'm losing my beauty sleep because of you!

No prince to wake me from this nightmare,
no kiss to bring me back to life
without you I'm dead inside
trapped in a simple dream

Amazing! This could be one of my favorite pieces of poetry. It was well written and beautiful! I can easily relate to this and it is full of heartahce. The title was clever as well. I am shelving this one

I love this because reading it made me think a lot about how I feel today about things in my life. 'No prince to wake me up from this nightmare' really speaks to me because I think women have this idea because of books and tv that there are men that are willing to throw themselves out there to be with a woman and a lot of times it's not the case.. we don't always get the fairy-tale. So good write!
