The End of the Road

The End of the Road

A Poem by Tasha
"

Inspired by the song by Boys 2 Men.

"
I thought things would last forever
I didn't think it would end here
At the end of the road
All our memories,
Our laughs,
Our  cries,
Are left at the end of the road
of where we once stood...
No more hugs,
No more smiles,
how did we reach the end of the road?
I thought we cared for one another...
Well I cared for you...
I don't know if you cared for me...
Its unnatural,
You belong with me,
I belong with you,
And our times, at the end of the road
Shows that we need to accept the fact
That we've driven to the end of the road,
And we're hanging off the cliff of love
And there's nothing we can do about it,
But hopefully land in safe grass

Author's Note

 Tasha
I've decided to try something new. I want to add a line of a favorite song into my poems. It's different and I could really use your help... if this is a good idea or not. This title and lines "Its unnatural, you belong with me, I belong with you." is from Boys 2 Men and their song "End of the Road."

I think it's a good idea so long as you give credit to the source. Which is what you have done. With that being said I think you did a good job at making a poem from your favorite song. With you telling us that it was inspired by the song I can see where it is going and how you managed to stay true to the essence of the song. Very good

A sad poem of love and loss..We often try to hang on to someone that just does not feel the ssane about us..it only brings pain and heartache which you have well expressed in your write..Kathie

I like that you incorporated something that you enjoy to your work! I also appreciate that you gave credit where credit was due but I must say, your writing is wonderful! Keep up the good work!

Good poem! I liked the emotion that you put in it. I like how you created a poem out of your favorite song, which is NOT something that you see every day. Thank you for writing.

PS: I think that adding that line is a good idea, as long as you give credit where credit is due and you don't use the poem to make money. :)

You did very well with this poem. I like the flow and the meaning in the poem. Sometime some words or music can strengthen and allow us to re-create good and strong emotions. I like the ending to the excellent poem.

I know nothing of copyrights or any legal mumbo jumbo, but I know this poem does honor and pay homage to both the song, End of the Road, and Boys 2 Men. Inspiration is a powerful thing and I like to think it is okay to be inspired were ever we can get it. Maybe if you give them credit in your title like, "A poem inspired by Boys 2 Men and written with love by Ta'shandra Bradley." But maybe someone else can speak to the the way it "should" be done. The poem was very nice and well written. That "Love Lost" subject can be a block in the road or it can be an inspired poem. I like your choice to write it out.
