People should care less about what other people think.
I could care less About what other people think about me, About you, About us being together People say "You're stupid not for leaving him" But can't you understand? I love him
I could care less When people say "So you've got a player" Yes I know that, But I can't help who I fall for
I could care less When people stare at us in the mall, It just means we're the two hottest things in there
I could care less When people have something Negative to say Because I'm not going to change who I am Just to please you That wouldn't be fair to me
Well put. It should not matter who you love in other peoples eyes in the first place. Love is a beautiful thing and others judge it as otherwise they're mental. But who cares what others think about you. Especially when love is present. Well written. Thank you for sharing
A great write. Too much attention is showered on the strangers in life whose opinions are not the least significant and important. Being what you are and accepting yourself the same, is something we all need to learn. Who we are, who we associate with, who we love, who we hate - these are all our personal choices which should not be affected by others.
Well written. :)
Such an accurate reflection of this sort of situation. The poet seems to be in some sort of denial, and you give across the haplessly in love idea very well.
That's so true. That's how I feel when people look at me in the hallway they just jealous cause I'm the hottest thing on earth. Love is truly a beautiful thing. I love this poem. Well done.
*You're stupid for not leaving him"
I can't tell you how to correct this, and I don't even think that it's technically wrong, but can you find a way to change that?
And I've been here before, dating a "player." At least he's yours. But I think that when we girls get into those kinds of situations, we fall head-over-heels, but we immidiently put ourselves in control, so that they don't have the power to completely tear us to pieces! :) Am I right?
No one should change who they are just to please someone else. Live to please yourself only, and don't listen when they tell you that it makes you self-absorbed.
And about love - you can choose who you are in a relationship with, but you cannot control physical attraction. Physical attraction is either there, or it's not, and should not be confused with real love. Real, lasting love has more to do with unconditional acceptance. Love is about accepting yourself unconditionally so that you are better able to recognise a person who is good for you, instead of settling for those who prey on your vulnerabilities. You have to be whole in yourself so that you don't compromise yourself to those who do not appreciate you. Why be with someone for the sole sake of avoiding being by yourself? If you're content with yourself, you won't worry about having a relationship at all, and then you will be able to see Mr. Right when he presents himself.
You may not be able to help who you are attracted to, but you have to ask yourself, 'Why am I attracted to this person if he is not good for me?' Most of the time, it is because we feel we do not deserve anyone who is good for us, and secretly and subconsciously, we are sabotaging good things in our lives, punishing ourselves for some unresolved guilt or feeling of inadequacy.
My own problem lies in always seeking out those who 'need help' ... so I can 'fix them'. This, of course, always turns into disaster in the end, cos most of them don't want to be fixed. Why is it that we always think we can fix everyone through unconditional love? It doesn't always work, does it?
Well put. You can't help who you love or fall in love with! It's not like you pick guys (or girls) out a catologue and say, "I want to love that one" It's not possible!!! SO great job, there. And other people should realize that you can't control who you love, so they shouldn't say anything about the person you love! Great poem.
