I agree that it's important to remember the real meaning behind increasingly secularised religious festivals. However, as an agnostic who has had religious themes expressed repetitively, I find this topic a little cliched. No reflection on your writing, though, which is simple, but fine. keep up the good work.
I admit in previous years I have been more focused on the easter eggs than the real meaning behind easter, but this year I actually paid attention to the day rather than the eggs, and I can see your point.
However, I do agree with Jazperanza that the topic is a little cliched, as there are a lot of religious writers who are trying to remind us of the real meaning of easter. Still, it's a brilliant write.
It seems to me that a lot of people, adults and kids alike, seem to forget the true spirit of Easter. It is quite easy to lose the whole concept underneath candy and Easter Bunnies. Those who celebrate should remember the real reason they're celebrating.
A very well written piece, if a little cliched. Thank you for writing this poem!
It is very important to remeber the real meaning of easter, I think all spiritual holidays have become to commercialized so this poem is a nice reminder
This is amazing and so true! Why have we forgotten the true meaning of Easter? Jesus rose from the dead and we should rejoice! It's not the candy. It's not the Easter Egg Hunts. It's Jesus. If He hadn't died and rose again than we would all go to hell. What mercy God has laid on us. A beautifully touching write that I truly enjoyed reading! I applaud you for writing the truthful meaning of what Easter is all about. :)
