Through the Eyes of a Child

I wrote this after watching a special on child abuse.

" Quit yelling and screaming,
I hate seeing the two of you argue "
see my point of view,
through the eyes of a child
" Don't call each other names,
and don't you dare hit her, "
you see what I'm going through?
through the eyes of a child
no two people should fuss and fight
like that.... if you truly love each other
I know I shouldn't have a say,
but through the eyes of a child
I want to protect mommy,
because I don't want her to get hurt
I love her too much...
yeah, this is the life.....

Great piece of heart wrenching work. I have a good respect for this type of writing, or at least the theme.
Everyone always says how horrid it is for children that have to go through this, and it is so true. They just usually don't understand how many children have to go through it. Hundreds, thousands...

This is a beautiful and well written piece! It reminds me so much of my own life and some people close to me. I love the way you laid it out. Looking at things through a childs eyes can bring so much light to a situation, although it can be hard at times to see it from that point of view. Children are delicate and need to be treated like that. Well done!

This was a very emotional piece, if a little bit confusing. Who is saying this, a child or an adult? Maybe if you clean up the language a bit this piece would be a lot more enjoyable.

Over-all the theme is very powerful, and in its nature causes a lot of conflicting emotions. Great job with this theme! Thank you for writing.
