Cookie Jar

Cookie Jar

A Poem by Tasha

Memories from our past
has affected our present
and if we don't do something about it
it will affect our future
so I'm putting you in
the cookie jar

Every moment we shared,
every talk,
every text,
made me feel a part of you
so you're going in the cookie jar

I thought things would last
but you're just like a delicious cookie
waiting to be devoured
but you're just empty calories
going to my thighs

Oh little cookie jar
you kept everything
a little secret,
making sure I forget him
when I throw away the cookie jar

A very silly poem (in a good way). I laughed all through it. I love your idea of putting away memries like putting things into a cookie jar. A good poem, i really like it. And if someone doesnt like this poem then i will hogtie them and throw them into the cookie jar only to be eaten later by a fat kid. XD

A very emotional poem... Just love the imagery used here, and also the way you've presented the cookie jar as a pensive is very impressive... I wish there was a way to forget all our lost love... You are a very gifted writer to write this way... Great write...

I like this. If only life was this simple.... When I was little I used to have a homemade red postbox by my bed and before I went to sleep I would write down all my little worries and post them, then my mum would put a postman satchel on and come and collect them and she would take them away. I was such as anxious child. This reminded me of this. Thanks for bringing back a nice, but slightly odd memory. I'm now a full blown insomniac for maybe I should try this again!!

Nicely done, Ta'shandra. I liked it a lot. The moral of it is a good one, very sweet piece of writing, I think I'm gonna shelve this one :]

I loved the poem. Lighthearted, clever, and creative. I loved how you used the "cookie jar" as a metaphor for something much more. Lovely poem and good job :)

A very unique way of treasuring memories and then throwing them out. I really liked it. Two thumbs up!

"Memories from our past has effected our present" This could not be anymore true, if only more people understood how much the past does effect the present. great poem

I truly love this stanza, its a beautifully written whimsical take on bad relationships. I also truly appreciate that this wasn't a "typical" love poem, it was honest and lighthearted. I get tires of gloom and doom after awhile. Bravo! :)
