Staircase of Love

Staircase of Love

A Poem by Tasha

At the bottom of the stairs is where we first met,
I inch up to where we started talking
And where things got flirtatious

Slowly I crept to where we exchanged numbers,
Our conversations get longer and longer
I  pull up my dress destined to make it
To the top of the staircase of love
Because of the prince that waits for me

Halfway there... I look up and smile into your big brown eyes
And I stop dead in my tracks
Just to catch a glimpse of you

I start back up again...
half nervous, half excited
Knowing where this staircase ends
And where I want a certain part of my life to begin
On this staircase of love

I finally reach the top
And my hearts flutters
Because I know this is where I'm suppose to be...
With you...
On this staircase of love

I like the metaphor of a staircase to describe a budding relationship. Because you have to take steps in order to reach the goal of being with someone. That was a great metaphor, but the poem isn't finished yet. Walking up a big staircase can be tiring, you should add the trails and tribulations the speaker faces as she takes the steps toward reaching her lover. Just an Idea.

I like how you incorporated a staircase into the poem. This was a very enjoyable read and a new way to write a love poem. Great job again!

great metaphor that can not only be used in love, but also in the steps people take throughout their lives, and how we always have a destination (the top of the stairs) in mind, a goal to make us keep stepping up. wonderful poem.

This is adorable, absolutely splendid. The simulation between the stair case and the journey of a relationship, flawless. You put it quite well and it was sweet, simple, and delicate all the same. Wonderful, truly, truly, wonderful :] Great work!
