The Only One

The Only One

A Poem by Lydia Jamison

You're my perfect cup of tea,
You are all that I can see,
You're the bread to my butter
And you make me happy.
You are everything I want,
You are everything I need.
I love what you got,
You don't have to change a thing.

I don't care if you're quirky,
I don't care if you're strange.
You're everything I ever wanted,
What more can I say?
I know my friends don't like you
And I know that they talk,
But no matter what they say or do,
I will never walk.

I love the way you smile
And I love the way you taste,
I love the way your emotions
Are spread across your face.
You never want to change me,
You don't have to say a word,
Because before you say it,
I've already heard.

No one in this world
Ever made me feel this way.
If I see you every morning,
I'll be happy every day.
Sometimes we don't get up,
We just lay around in bed.
Don't need to go nowhere,
Lay my head upon your chest.

You're the shoulder that I cry on,
When my world falls apart.
You're the keeper of my secrets,
You're the holder of my heart.
I'm you're only lover,
You're my only passion,
But what all comes down to is;
You're the only one.
