Who Is She?A Poem by Lydia Jamison
Who is she?
Where's she from? What's she like? Is she just What you want In a girl? Is she better than I ever was? Does she laugh At your jokes? Is she rich? Is she broke? Do you love How she speaks? Do you stay Awake to Hear her breathe? Does she wear Your shirt When she's home All alone? Does she say All the things That she Cannot show? Do you know What she's thinking? Doe she tell you How she feels? Have you let her See your closet Full of old film reels? Does she burn You CDs With her favorite Songs? Are they Slow and sweet? Or are they Fast and strong? And when you Drive in your car, Do you sing along? Do you know What it's like? How I Break down And cry? How I shattered To pieces, How I curled Up and died? Who is she? Is she everything You could Never be? I know how You lie, And I know That you see, How I just Keep on waiting. Hear these words That I sing. How you know She means nothing, Unless she is me. © 2010 Lydia JamisonAuthor's Note
