Make Myself A WishA Poem by Lydia Jamison
I miss everything
That used to be around me. In a second it's all gone, And just like that, I'm all alone. We've got so many problems, The world is looking solemn. There's no way To dance my troubles away, No way to turn This night into day. I've got nothing More to say. Look around you, See the world is lost. Beauty is distorted, The innocent get caught. Chivalry is dead, Hope just about gone. Every day just seems Too long. Hate and so much hurt, Breaking down the earth. We need some magic, Just pray that there Is such thing. I'll make myself a wish While everything else is breaking. No one cries when People start to die. Families fall apart, People breaking hearts. Love doesn't exist, How did we get to this? You don't know my name, But do you feel this way? Look around you, See the world is lost. Beauty is distorted, The innocent get caught. Chivalry is dead, Hope just about gone. Every day just seems Too long. Hate and so much hurt, Breaking down the earth. We need some magic, Just pray that there Is such thing. Shooting stars Don't go so far, They come falling down Like crashing cars. I wish I could be Where the happy times are. Look around you, See the world is lost. Beauty is distorted, The innocent get caught. Chivalry is dead, Hope just about gone. Every day just seems Too long. Hate and so much hurt, Breaking down the earth. We need some magic, Just pray that there Is such thing. Shooting stars Don't go so far. They come falling down Like crashing cars... © 2010 Lydia JamisonAuthor's Note
