May Flowers

May Flowers

A Poem by Lydia Jamison

Like a May flower,
You're starting to bloom.

The April showers,
Came too soon.

You grew too fast
And passed me by.

So now that I see you,
I can't help but

Cry.

What a beautiful way of expressing yourself through this metaphor! You conveyed your idea clearly and poetically without being too obvious. The short simplicity of your phrasing really helped me understand, and your clear words told a beautiful, sad, heartfelt story. Great write!
