The Sound of Violins

The Sound of Violins

A Poem by Lydia Jamison

There is nothing quite as beautiful
As the sound of violins.
They chase away the nightmares,
Cover up the sins.

While most prefer the noise
That is written out in blood,
I prefer the music,
Written out with love.

Strings singing soulfully,
Ringing through the hall.
Casting into a dreamland
As the night begins to fall.

Bows racing violently,
Striking every note.
I'm fighting through my battles,
The music gives me hope.

All I need to get me by,
Is a single lovely tune.
All I need is the sound of violins,
To remind me of you.

There is nothing quite as beautiful
As the sound of violins.
They chase away the nightmares,
Cover up the sins.

As I sleep inside my castle,
I will put my heart on a shelf.
The strings and bows are singing.
I can finally be myself.
