A Poem by Madison Black

i'm
capturing
fleeting moments of mass confusion.
labeling
it "the human race". this is what my insides are

doing
as i glance through you.
you've just realized that i've been
standing
on the top of the universe,
laughing.
its funny because i have just realized i'm terrified of heights.

my wet guilt is
dripping
down my forearm as i sink my teeth into it.
the tendons in my wrist are
swelling
as i grasp onto your attention.

please don't give up on me
because your honestly all i have left.

you don't realize that i've been
crying
in front of you for an eternity.
i don't understand why you haven't been
seeing
me. i should have thought of
filming
it. i'm sorry.

my insides are now
showing
me a sepia-toned image. my hand is
gripping
the back of his neck and i'm
holding
him close.

hairline to hairline;
dust to dust.

this is really nice.
i like the disjointed structure a lot. it reflects the mood really well!
