This is my first delve into the world of poetry, I felt like I wanted to get this off my chest and hopefully it will inspire someone to take a moment to think about all those who have fallen in wars.
A reminder of how the nameless ranks of men have died, only to become numbers in history books. We rarely remember how each and every one of them has had their own lives, their own loves, their own interests. Yet they've all been snuffed out just like the last.
A beautiful poem, and I feel that the lines
"Who knows where he's been,
Who knows what he's seen", compress the idea perfectly. We can not hope to understand all those people, all those lives lost. But we can still try to remember them for what they did.

Is this the very first poem you've ever written? Ever? You've got some nice natural talent dude. *thumbs up* I like it.

I think it's well written and has a lot of depth to it. That being said, I think you could dig even deeper and continue this poem to new limits you didn't even know about if you think about it long enough. But overall great idea!

I will admit, I wrote this poem quite quickly in a sudden outburst of creativity. I would have liked to add more to it but at the time I was scared it might get repetitive and drag on for too long, now that you have said this I'll look back and maybe have a go! :)
