Just a Novelty

Just a Novelty

A Poem by Damon Chambers

Sometimes my mind goes to a deep dark place
Darker than a moonless night or outer space

All it takes is to see her amazing face
And instantly I am taken to a happier place

Her eyes look into the depths of my soul
Causing me to lose every bit of control

I long to feel her soft warm touch
I wouldn't be sad nearly as much

Her smile makes me weak in the knees
Oh how I want her I am begging you please

Maybe someday these dreams will come true
But until then these pictures will have to do

I have to accept the powers that be
The ones that keep her from being here with me
