Dreamless Night

Dreamless Night

A Poem by Black Ocean
"

One of those long nights where you stay up till the sun hits your eyes

"
Oh how cruel is the night
To keep you up while others sleep tight
Filling your head with plight
Of hopes and dreams that may never take flight
Of past lovers whom you left broken
Preventing you from ever letting love be spoken
Will i ever be free?
From these thoughts that chain me
Or are my chains only an illusion
That i created from my own contusions
The key to depart this misery
Is so simple yet still a mystery
All it takes is to let go
But how can i?
For these thoughts are like ravens
Surrounding me in all my havens
In the chaos of the noise i find myself
Destroyed
Exhausted
Alone
Defeated
Until i see the rays of light
Will i know that everything's alright
Knowing i survived another dreamless night

We are told to write a list of jobs needed to be done as well as other things that's on your mind, but it's my experience that it doesn't work. I hope this is not something you are experiencing.
Quite well written. Keep going.

Grace.
